As of last week, Governor Walz has extended shelter-in-place and social distancing. This continues to impact our baseball season. The LBA Board is meeting weekly and planning for a season.
At this time, what we do know is:
Rookie Camp: Season is on hold; however, planning is underway
House ball: Season on hold; however, planning is underway
Legion ball: State legion program meets on May 9th and a season update will be sent following that meeting.
Travel ball: The Metro Baseball League proposed timeline is as follows:
May 11th - Statewide communication with guidelines and requirements
May 18th - Begin practices with no more than 16 people on the field, including players and coaches
June 1 - League games begin
NOTE: this is all pending and is subject to change.
For travel families:
The travel apparel (not uniforms) is expected to arrive this week and a communication will be sent about getting items to you.
LBA has asked coaches to not reach out to their team until we are confirmed with a plan for the season.
Miracle League is canceling their spring/summer program and refunds will be provided to all families. Fall ball planning will begin soon.
Please remember that the baseball fields at King, Quigley and both high schools are closed.
Registration remains closed at this time. If we are able to have a season, registration will be reopened. If we are unable to have a season, refunds will be provided.
The health and safety of our players, families and community is our primary concern. Let us know if you have any questions/concerns. This update will be posted to the website and Facebook.
