Fields UPDATE
by posted 04/13/2014

I personally want to thank all the parents, coaches and players who showed up yesterday for our Spring Field Preparation Day! We got a lot accomplished at many of the Parks and Fields.

All eleven batting cages are now up and ready for use. However please stay off the baseball fields until they are officially open.

As off today the hope is to have the fields open by Monday April 21st. That is still tentative date. We will update you when we know more. Please don’t be the bad apple that uses the fields before they are open.

Thank you,

Chuck Ryan

Fields and Facilities Director

Miracle League Game Announcers Needed!
by posted 04/02/2014

The Miracle League is looking for volunteer Game Announcers & Score Keepers for the summer season. We have openings on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and two games on Saturdays 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m and 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The game announcer is responsible for the introduction of the team before the game, and each individual player when they come up to bat. The scorekeeper is responsible for turning on the electronic scoreboard, and keeping the score up to date throughout the game. The game announcer and scorekeeper also work together to play music using a supplied pre-recorded Ipod before and during the game. Each volunteer pair will work together for eight games starting in early May, and ending by mid July. Children must be at least 12 years old to be eligible. Responsible children who show up on time each week and make the game a fun experience for the players will be offered a character reference letter from the Miracle League Director describing your volunteerism. Please reply to this posting if you are interested in volunteering. Thank you.

New Dugout Ceremony at Steve Michaud Park
On Saturday, October 4th, a ceremony to celebrate the completion of two new dugouts took place at Steve Michaud Park. The festivities included a presentation by Chuck Ryan, LBA's Director of Fields and Facilities. Chuck recognized the generous contributions of the individuals and organizations that made the project possible, including Advanced BioEnergy LLC, Minnesota Twins Community Fund, City of Lakeville Parks & Rec Department, Lakeville Lobos Baseball Team, Lakeville Lions Club, and Lakeville Baseball Association.

In addition to our community partners, the LBA Board would also like to recognize Chuck Ryan for his dedication and the extraordinary amount of time and effort he put forth to make this project happen. Thanks Chuck!!!

LBA also welcomes our members to stop by Steve Michaud Park and take a look at the new dugouts. These dugouts will result in added safety and comfort for our players and coaches and will help make this one of the nicest 90 foot diamonds in town!
