ML Coaches

ML Coach
The role of the coach, assistant coach and team manager is to assist the players in learning the basics of baseball in a way that best suits the player, so they can have fun and be safe. If you are interested in becoming a coach, assistant coach or team manager, contact Kari Schmitz or register at www.lakevillebaseball.org

Requirements for all Coaches

  • Must be over 18
  • Register as a coach, assistant coach or team manager at www.lakevillebaseball.org by.  Make sure your contact info is current.
  • Complete a criminal background check, the cost of this will automatically be paid by LBA. 
  • Online Concussion Training   - A copy of your certificate will be kept on file at the ML Field and is good for 3 years.
  • Abuse Awareness for Adults Course through USA Baseball.

Coaches Game Day

  • Arrive 30 minutes before game time to unlock the field and set up equipment
  • Buddies should arrive about 15 minutes before game time – meet with the buddies and brief them of their duties
  • Pair up players with their buddies
  • Play ball
  • Put all equipment away and secure field

Game Cancelation
Game cancelation may not always be due to rain, it is important to look at the expected temperatures as well. Each coach should consider these factors and how they will affect their players. The coaches for each team should make contact and determine if a game should be cancelled. Ideally, the cancelation should take place no later than 2 hours before game time.  If a game is cancelled, players will be notified via email.
