Umpire Requirments:

• Umpires must be 13 years old or older by May 1^st 2010
• Umpires must be willing to accept responsibility
• Umpires must be responsible enough to show up when scheduled
• Umpires must provide thier own umpire kit (plate ball bag, clicker and brush).  Umpire kits will be available for purchase at each of the training classes for apporoximately $12. Please indicate on your registration form if you plan to buy one of these umpire kits at your training class.     
• All umpires must attend one of the following two and a half hour sessions at the (regardless of past experience)
  • Thursday, April 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m (McGuire Middle School)
  • Saturday, April 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m (Mcguire Middle School)
  • Please remember to bring your completed Umpire Written Test to your training session
  • Prospective umpires are responsible for printing and bringing the Baseball Rules and Reference Sheet for grade 3 through grade 6 to the training class.
  • Please confirm the training times and dates on the LBA Web page a few days before training.  Training is conducted by John Tonsager and scheduling conflicts may occur.

• Scheduling will again be available on the LBA web page
• Payment for games:  3rd/4th grade $25.00,   5th/6th grade $30.00,  7th grade $35.00.
• LBA will use the Umpire Pay Sheet program as used for the past 4 years. 
• All umpires will be required to fill out a W-9 Form due to IRS regs requiring LBA to report any umpire making more that 600.00 Note:  This is a one time document.  If you have already filled out a W-9 Form you do not need to fill out another one, unless your address has changed.
• Anyone interested in becoming an Umpire for the 2010 season must mail the completed Umpire Registration Form to John Tonsager, PO 873, Lakeville,  MN  55044
